Write a "Zeugnis" - Reference support

After a termination or after someone quit his job in Germany all employees
by law have the right to get a qualified and good-will reference letter from
the company. The HR department normally does not like this task so much.
It is highly time consuming, not adding direct value but very tricky.

A quick and dirty approach is a guarantee for more emotions in any
termination negotiations and also often a ticket to go to the court.
A “you write it – I sign it” approach could be bad too. You never know who
from what company will read this and the last thing you need is a written
prove for unprofessional business in the hand of one of your customers,
vendors or competitors.

So you better give some thoughts to the creation of such a reference letter.
Downside is it can block one HR person for 1-2 days.
